There is no statewide date: each town votes its own due date (often August through November), and if a town votes to charge interest on overdue taxes the bill must be due no later than December 1.
Statewide schedule — read this before you rely on it
Each municipality sets its own due date and installment schedule by vote, so dates differ town by town. Variation between counties here is high — treat the dates above as a starting point only.
Towns that vote to charge interest add up to 1% per month for three months and 1.5% per month after, plus a collection fee once the delinquent list is turned over.
Towns mail tax bills at least 30 days before the locally voted due date; if no date was voted, taxes are due 30 days after the notice is mailed.
