Statewide schedule — read this before you rely on it
The statute sets December 31 and June 20, but counties routinely move the first half into late January or February and the second into July or August, and the tax commissioner can grant further extensions. Most counties in this state follow these dates.
An unpaid installment draws a 5% penalty if paid within ten days and 10% after that, plus interest at the statutory rate under R.C. 323.121 until paid.
Taxes levied in the fall are billed by the county treasurer in December and January for collection the following year, so the December 31 date is commonly extended.
