Statewide schedule — read this before you rely on it

Every county collector prints its own dates, and Cook County's spring and late-summer schedule differs from the June and September pattern in most other counties. Variation between counties here is high — treat the dates above as a starting point only.

An unpaid installment is delinquent and bears interest at 1.5% per month (0.75% in Cook County for tax year 2023 and later), and the county can sell the lien.

County collectors mail bills after the levy is extended in the spring; the printed due dates, not the statute, tell owners when each installment is payable.
